The submissions for our #foalsNfocus photo contest continue to pour in with a wide variety of photos received for this week. Selected as the Champion was a Janelle Schroeder photo of a beautiful Morgan filly named Atwood Kantara.

A Cornerstone of the Breeding World

Year in and year out we admire the presence and athletic ability of our American Saddlebred, Morgan and Hackney show stars but did you ever think about, how did they get here? Where did they get their start? Large scale breeding farms are nearly a thing of the past as these days many foals are the products of “small breeders,” those show horse exhibitors who also raise a foal or two.

Signature Stables Relocates to Simpsonville

Signature Stables has started the show season in a new location. After two decades situated at Rock Creek Riding Club, Chad and Michelle Cole have made the decision to move their training establishment to Simpsonville, Kentucky and relocate to the former John Biggins Stable.

Suzy Lucine Passed Away

Morgan enthusiasts around the country are mourning today’s (May 5) passing of longtime journalist, owner, exhibitor, promoter, Suzy Lucine. From a family who put so much into the Morgan industry, Suzy carried that torch for many years, even after she was stricken with health issues that would have shut most down.

$20,000 in Stephens College Scholarship Available to Saddlebred Youth

The Stephens College scholarship program was created by Sally Jackson to support students who are committed to continuing their involvement in the American Saddlebred and/or equine industries.

Saddlebred Record Champion Program Changes

Upon the recommendation of the Registry Council, the ASHBA Board of Directors approved a proposal to change the criteria for the Saddlebred Record Champion Program to require that only 5 points must be earned at USEF Licensed shows.

Improvements Completed to the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair Grounds

On the heels of our donation from the 2022 show to Bryn Mawr Hospital, the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair Board of Directors are making significant investments into the show grounds prior to the 2023 Show scheduled for May 25th - June 4, 2023.

Applications Are Now Open For Two Scholarships Offered By The UPHA Foundation

The United Professional Horsemen’s Association (UPHA) is proud to announce we are now awarding two scholarships to high school seniors or freshmen in college who represent the show horse breeds. The scholarships are open to applicants who are high school seniors or those currently enrolled in college and planning on continuing their education.
