The Stephens College $20,000 Scholarship

The Stephens College $20,000 Scholarship, sponsored by Sally Jackson, will provide $20,000 to a high school junior or senior that competed and qualified for the 2023 UPHA Senior Challenge Cup National Championship, the UPHA Senior Pleasure Challenge Cup National Championship, the UPHA Senior Arabian Challenge Cup National Championship, the UPHA National Show Horse Challenge Cup National Championship or the UPHA Senior Morgan Challenge Cup National Championship.

On the morning of September 1, 2023, William Hereford (“Bill”) Thompson passed away peacefully at the DeGreefe Hospice House in St. Louis, with his family at his bedside, following a fight with cancer.

All nominations for the American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association (ASHBA) Major Awards will be due October 1.

Bartz Impact Scholarship Award Nominations Open

The American Saddlebred Museum no accepting nominations for the Keith Bartz Impact Scholarship Award. The award is $1,500 and is given to an individual dedicated to raising awareness of the American Saddlebred and improving the community.

USEF Introduces Microchip Rule for Equine Health and Safety

US Equestrian strives to consistently ensure the safety and welfare of both our human and equine athletes. One fundamental aspect of equine safety is microchipping. Microchips in horses allow for immediate onsite verification of horses for the purpose of safeguarding the health of each horse. This is vital, especially during times of disease outbreaks or natural disasters.

Family Day at the American Saddlebred Museum

On Sunday, September 24 from noon – 3:00 p.m. families are invited to join a special day of fun with the American Saddlebred Museum. This free event is a special opportunity for children and adults to learn more about the American Saddlebred breed. Family Day activities include hands-on art making, games, story time, petting zoo, kid friendly refreshments and some special equine visitors!
