The All American Horse Classic, one of the most important events on the fall show calendar, will highlight the nation’s top horses and riders this Sept. 7-11 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Offering over $750,000 in awards, the All American again hosts the ASHA Bluegrass Regional Championships and will be a USEF triple point show for the Hackney Pony division. The show is also an Equine Services Roadster Cup qualifying show for both horses and ponies. The All American benefits Strides To Success, a local Equine Assisted Learning facility in Plainfield, Ind.
The All American Classic is renowned for its "Breeders' Showcase" events: the ASR Sweepstakes, the All American Cup, the Hackney Limited Breeders' Stakes, the American Saddlebred Futurity of Indiana and the Hoosier Hackney Futurity. The show also spotlights the best in equitation, featuring the UPHA Senior and Junior Pleasure Challenge Cup Championships, the Adult UPHA Challenge Cup Championship and the UPHA Five-Gaited Horsemanship Finals.
New classes for 2010 include an Open English Saddle Seat Pleasure division, Five-Gaited Pleasure Novice and a Three-Year-Old Performance division of the AHHS Limited Breeders' Stakes. Back by popular demand will be the UPHA Ladies Five-Gaited Pink Ribbon Stake, which will compete on Thursday, Sept. 9.
Marking the cards in the Saddlebred and roadster horse divisions, plus the Saddlebred Futurity of Indiana, will be James Hale, Ricky Harris and Richard Obenauf. Mitch Clark, Ricky Harris and Richard Obenauf will tie both divisions of the All American Cup, while Kristen Cater, Liz McBride-Jones and Ricky Harris will be the judges for the UPHA Pleasure, Adult and Five-Gaited Challenge Cup Championships. Larry Ella will decide the honors in the Hackney, Friesian and Carriage classes and will be one of three judges for the AHHS Limited Breeders' Stakes. Kristen Cater will officiate for Saddle Seat Equitation.
The All American will be going "green" in 2010 – printed prize lists will be available only by request. Instead, the prize list, entry blank and all other forms will be emailed to exhibitors and will also be available at the show’s web site at www.allamericanhorseclassic.net.
