Wisconsin Futurity News

The Wisconsin Futurity Horse Festival is honored to announce the judging panel for its September 2008 competition. Judges are Fran Crumpler, Marilyn MacFarlane, and Michael Craghead.

The show will be held September 17-21. In partnership with the UPHA Foundation the Wisconsin Futurity is pleased to sponsor a "pink ribbon" class and associated special festivities to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The United Professional Horseman’s Association has pledged to raise $100,000 to be spent on breast cancer research. The Horse Festival is honored to be part of this effort.

The Five Gaited Ladies Stake presented on Saturday evening, September 20, is the Festival’s designated pink ribbon class. Special ribbons will be awarded to exhibitors, first through eighth place. A UPHA Pink Ribbon Class Winners Trophy will be awarded in addition to a Dimaro bronze. The UPHA will also award an associate membership to the winner of this class.

The Wisconsin Futurity Horse Festival will be held on the Alliant Energy Center grounds in Madison, Wisconsin. The horse festival offers futurity classes and a complete schedule of performance, pleasure, and equitation classes. Spectators are always welcome. Horse show classes are held indoors in the coliseum with comfortable theatre style seating. Indoor and outdoor rings are available for working or warming up horses in addition to the coliseum. The Festival and individual barns host nightly exhibitors’ parties, and a very well prepared brunch will be served after the Limited Breeders’ Weanling Championship on Sunday morning.
