The American Hackney Horse Society (AHHS) is proud to announce the official establishment of the Broodmare Hall of Fame (BHF), a new honor recognizing the exceptional broodmares whose offspring have achieved outstanding success in the show ring.

What began as a passion project for Anne-Marie Overstreet in 2022 has grown into a significant initiative celebrating the influential mares behind generations of successful Hackneys. The Broodmare Hall of Fame recognizes the lasting impact these mares have made on the breed through the accomplishments of their progeny.

In 2024, AHHS formally established the Broodmare Hall of Fame Committee to develop and oversee this prestigious recognition. The inaugural committee members were Anne-Marie Overstreet, Amber Kildow, Rose Marie Wheeler, and Carl Nichols, with Pam Aherns joining the committee later.

After an extensive review of horse show records spanning from 1990 through 2025, 119 mares were determined to meet the eligibility requirements for this distinguished honor. The creation of the Broodmare Hall of Fame represents a meaningful opportunity to recognize the exceptional producing mares whose offspring have earned top honors at some of the nation's most prestigious shows.

AHHS extends its sincere appreciation to The Saddlehorse Report for its online horse show results and to Becky Damron, whose knowledge and assistance with archived show results proved invaluable to this extensive research effort. Their contributions helped make this project possible.
