UPHA Welcomes 2014 BMI Songwriter Of The Year Rhett Akins to the 2015 UPHA National Convention



The UPHA National Convention is thrilled to announce that on November 4 in Nashville Tennessee, Rhett Akins our entertainment for our "Welcome to Savannah" Party at the 2015 UPHA National Convention was named Broadcast Music Inc's (BMI) Songwriter of the Year for 2014. Rhett also won this prestigious honor in 2011.

Rhett Akins was named BMI Songwriter of the Year for 2014, with writing credits on seven of the most-performed songs of the past year, including "Boys Round Here," recorded by Blake Shelton featuring Pistol Annies, "Hey Girl" by Billy Currington, "I Can Take It From There" by Chris Young, "It Goes Like This" by Thomas Rhett, "Parking Lot Party" by Lee Brice, "Point at You" by Justin Moore and "When She Says Baby" by Jason Aldean.

The "Welcome to Savannah" Party on Thursday night of the convention is being sponsored by the wonderful Helen Rich and Alexandra DeGray and is complimentary to all registered guest of the 2015 UPHA National Convention.
