UPHA America Royal Announces Trainer Incentives, Upgrades and Judging Panel



The United Professional Horsemen's Association (UPHA) is excited to announce a new trainer incentive program as well as further upgrades for this year’s National Championship Horse Show. A trainer’s purse is being added for 2021, beginning Wednesday championships/stakes held during the matinee sessions will have a $250 purse paid to a randomly drawn trainer of an entry. For each championship/stake held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings the trainer of a randomly drawn entry will receive $500.

We are also pleased to announce upgraded awards for winners with the addition of neck ribbons and victory passes for Reserve National Champions, in addition to expanded capacity, food, and beverage service in the hospitality and box seating areas. Designated “Coaches Boxes” will be available rail side for trainers with entries in the ring. We are also hopeful that COVID guidelines will allow a return to the famous American Royal hospitality that we have always enjoyed, stay tuned for future announcements.

Maria Gilman, Dena Tanner-Lopez, and Tim Roesink will lead our all-star panel of officials. Judging the UPHA Challenge Cups National Championships and UPHA Exceptional Challenge Cup National Championships will be Robert Byers, Maria Gilman, and Matthew Roberts. Tom Bombolis, Tammie Conatser, and Nancy Troutman will judge the USEF Saddle Seat Medal Final.
