Touring the Bluegrass - Copper Coin Farm

On Friday April 25, Saddle Horse Report toured Copper Coin Farm in Simpsonville, Kentucky to promote the new breeders’ tools at SaddleHorseReport.com.

Copper Coin is owned and operated by Wendy and Bob Johnson. They have stood such stallions as Copper Coin's Contender, Deep Blue, Dorian Wild Temper (SA), Promise Keeper, Bess Night Out, Day Of Revival, Uncle Jimmy McDonald, and Wild-Eyed Warrior.

Here are a few of the pictures from a bright, sunshiny day at Copper Coin Farm.

These two colts took a break from gnawing each other's ears to pose for a picture.

A gorgeous colt by Copper Coin's Contender and out of a Deep Blue mare. Deep Blue is by the great Callaway's Blue Norther and out of Yorkshire Pudding, by New Yorker. Not only did Yorkshire Pudding win the ASHA National Three-Year-Old Three-Gaited Futurity with Redd Crabtree, but she produced two other top breeding stallions, Castle Bravo and Reedann's Top Gun. Three different crosses and three top producing stallions.

A colt by Dorian Wild Temper (SA) and out of a Periaptor mare. Wild Temper is the sire of the top fine harness stud, Dorian Warriors Song (SA). Wild Temper was the South African Five-Gaited Grand Champion in 2001 and 2002 and was second in the Five-Gaited Stallion World's Championship in the U.S. in 2003.

The bay colt is by Dorian Wild Temper (SA) and out of a Periaptor mare. The chestnut is by Copper Coin's Contender and out of a Deep Blue mare.

This fixy little colt is by Copper Coin's Contender and out of a sister to I'm First. Contender is by Prize Contender and out of Money Money, a Sultan's Contract mare. His second dam is the great Lady Trigg.

This colt is by Only Man In Town and out of a full sister to CH Lady Periana. Only Man In Town is by WGC CH Man On The Town and out of the Supreme Sultan mare, Only You.

A HUGE two-day-old colt by Bess Night Out and out of Blacklisted, a Three-Year-Old Five-Gaited Reserve World's Champion for Kris Price in 2000 and a daughter of Harlem Globetrotter. Bess Night Out is by CF First Night Out and out of the grand celebrity fine harness mare, Big Brown Bess.

This two-day-old is by Promise Keeper and out of a Caramac mare. Promise Keeper is a son of Periaptor. He is out of the CH Foxfire's Prophet mare, Deceive. Promise Keeper's second dam is by Sultan's Santana, giving him two doses of Supreme Sultan on his bottom line. He has Wing Commander blood top and bottom as well.

Just a day old at the time, this little guy by Day Of Revival is out of a Sultan's Great Day mare. Day Of Revival is by Revival and out of Mahvalous Day, a Sultan's Great Day mare and the dam of CH Mahvalous Asset, CH Callaway's Halley's Comet, and The Last Straw.
