Stars Fell On The Alabama Charity Horse Show

by Lauren Camp

PRICEVILLE, Ala.- Known for its hospitality and jovial, family-friendly atmosphere, the Charles Byron-managed Alabama Charity Horse Show boasted one of the most competitive shows of October. With around 700 stalls sold and barns from all over the South attending it was definitely a big deal. The welcome breakfast alone hosted over two hundred people on Wednesday morning before the show kicked off that night. Thursday night’s entertainment was a Southwestern style dinner and fabulous desserts brought by the exhibitors. The coup-de-grace Friday night was a fun-filled family event with hilarious trainer karaoke.

The expert judging skills of Euchee Matthews were exhibited while Doug Shiflet caught the winners’ victory passes. Richfield Video caught everything on tape while ringmasters Don Baker and Tommy Steadman kept everyone safe in the show ring. Lisa Bible judged academy, while show secretary Beth Snyder kept everything in the office running smoothly. Organist Stacy Beam jazzed up old favorites, and even had the crowd clapping along with several songs.
