A Very Special Friday Night In Oklahoma

The Friday evening session at the 2007 Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show closed with a very poignant performance. It was another record-setting achievement for JW That Special Flaire as he earned the Park Harness World Grand Championship for the third year in a row. The phenomenal four-year-old became the first to ever earn the honors in three consecutive years while his sire HVK Bell Flaire and grandsire Noble Flaire along with The Buckeye and Overlook Timbalier did each win the title three non-consecutive times. Prior to his victory pass in this great evening finale, announcer Bill Carrington asked Ken Swanson to wait a moment before making his victory pass. At this time Carrington paid tribute to the Judy Whitney Harris, as he spoke what so many in attendance were thinking. We are certainly all thinking about “the little blonde lady in Kentucky” who bred, raised and trained this horse and who has given the world so much of her special flaire. With a standing-ovation JW That Special Flaire closed out the Friday evening session in world championship fashion.
