Six Horses Perish in Deardorff Trailer Fire

A tire blowout is blamed for starting a fast-moving fire that killed six horses being towed in a trailer by Don and Allison Deardorff of Deardorff Stable LLC. By the time firefighters arrived, the trailer was fully engulfed in flames. The blaze was contained within minutes, but the horses all perished. The father-daughter training team were headed back to their Molalla, Oregon base from the Santa Barbara National Horse Show.
