A native of Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late R.E. Ellis, Jr., DMD and Martha “Perkie” Ellis who owned and operated the Longview Riding Camp. It was founded in support of Shan’s riding interests and she later became a State Champion Equestrian. Shan and Jamie’s love of horses launched their career as professional horse photographers in the Saddlebred breed. She was a member of the Georgetown Book Club, and a lifetime member of both the American Saddlebred Horse Assoc. and the United Professional Horsemen’s Assoc.

Survivors besides her husband of forty years, one sister Marti Ellis (Chuck) Lombardo, Georgetown; a niece and nephew, Ashley and Chris Adams.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Monday in the Georgetown Cemetery by Rev. Gene Wright. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home, 641 S. Broadway, Georgetown, KY. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington KY 40504.
