Several Stallion Service Auctions Upcoming



Lexington, Ky. ­– Several stallion service auctions will kick off the new year. Listed by date of auction, they include the Wisconsin Futurity Limited Breeders’ Stallion Service Auction on January 12; the All American Cup Stallion Service Auction on January 18 & 19; the Bluegrass Futurity Limited Breeders’ Stake Stallion Service Auction on January 20; the Ohio Limited Breeders’ Stake Stallion Service Auction on February 2; and the American Saddle Horse Breeders Futurity of West Virginia Stallion Service Auction on February 9.

 

Wisconsin Futurity

The Wisconsin Futurity’s 23rd annual stallion service auction will be held Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Radisson Hotel in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee. A special room rate of $94 is available at the Radisson with reference to the Wisconsin Futurity. The hotel phone number is 262-506-5300. The evening will begin with complimentary cocktails and a silent auction at 4:30 PM CST. Dinner will begin at 6:00 PM. The live stallion auction will immediately follow dinner. The resulting weanlings will compete for prize money at the Wisconsin Futurity Horse Show in 2009.

 

In 2007, the Wisconsin Limited Breeders’ Stake paid out $87,000 in prize money. In September 2008, weanlings bred using stallion services purchased at the January, 2007 auction will compete for over $100,000. All American Cup

The All American Cup Stallion Review and Service Auction is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, January 18 and 19, 2008 at Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville, Kentucky. The AAC Stallion Reviews are scheduled to depart by bus from Claudia Sanders each day at 7:20 AM ET, preceded by a free continental breakfast each morning at 6:30 AM. Box lunches will also be provided each day. Saddlebred farm stops on the stallion review include Kalarama Farm, Clouse Stables, Willowbank Farm, Leatherwood Farm, Double D Farm, Copper Coin Farm and Undulata Farm. The dinner will be held Saturday at 4:30 PM followed by the auction at 6 PM.

 

The All American Cup awarded a total of $177,977 to the top 16 in the weanling class of 48 entries in 2007. In 2008, in addition to the weanling class, will be the inaugural three-year-old class, which expects to award the highest purse in Saddlebred history at more than $150,000. Bluegrass Futurity

The Bluegrass Futurity Lunch and Stallion Service Auction will be held Sunday, January, 20, 2008 in the Phoenix Room at the Keeneland Race Course in Lexington. The afternoon begins with a KSOBA (Kentucky Saddlebred Owners and Breeders Association) meeting at 12:30 PM ET, then lunch at 1 PM. The auction will follow lunch. Reservations are required and must be made by January 15, 2008.

Ohio Limited Breeders

The Ohio Limited Breeders’ Stake Stallion Service Auction is set for Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Clark County Fairgrounds’ Champions Center in Springfield, Ohio. The day begins with a clothing/tack swap from 11 AM – 1 PM, hosted by the ASHA of Ohio. That is followed by the Bret & Susi Day Training Clinic from 1 – 4 PM, sponsored by the Penn-Ohio Futurity. The social hour is from 4 – 5 PM, dinner at 5 PM with the live auction slated for 6:15 PM.
