Satellite Feed Alert - World Equestrian Games Coming to USA for the First Time

What: It will be the largest multi-sport event held in the U.S. over the next 4 years and its coming to America for the first time in history. It is the World Equestrian Games, held just once every 4 years - equestrian’s biggest event and for equestrian on par with the Olympics.

Officials from Kentucky are in Aachen, Germany Sunday for the Closing Ceremonies of the 2006 World Equestrian Games where they will be handed the reins as the host of the next World Equestrian Games in 2010 in front of a sold out stadium of 40,000+.

 Over 500,000 people attended this year’s Games in Germany with larger crowds expected in Lexington, Kentucky in 2010. The Kentucky event will be the largest Multi-Sport event held in the United States over the next 4 years.

This feed includes: Highlights of the Closing Ceremonies including the ceremonial hand off from Aachen (this year’s host) to Lexington (the 2010 host). Also included are comments from Her Royal Highness Princess Haya of Jordan, the President of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), as well as comments from officials from Kentucky. Clips of the 7 sports that are contested at the World Equestrian Games are included as well.
