Saddlebred World Loses Longtime Breed Supporter



Lexington, Kentucky - The Saddlebred world has lost a longtime breed supporter recently, as Donna Overton passed away on Saturday, May 22 at the age of 80.

Overton was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, daughter of William H. and Beulah J. (Sines) Cooper. Her career included working at JCPenney, Commercial Bank and Jackson County Bank, where she retired. Overton was a founding member and former secretary of the American Saddle Horse Breeders Futurity of West Virginia. She was a grand lady and great friend to all, and will be greatly missed throughout the Saddlebred community.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Rich Brownlee of Millwood, West Virginia; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and William Stanley of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and several dear nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 26, at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, Rev. Michael Seely officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
