Saddlebred Two-Year-Old Sweepstakes



Lexington, Ky. ­– The grace period deadline for American Saddlebred Registry Two-Year-Old Sweepstakes prize program payments is Monday, June 11, 2007. Fees are due to nominate yearlings for the 2008 Two-Year-Old Sweepstakes as well as already nominated two-year-olds for this year’s Two-Year-Old Sweepstakes. Nomination forms are available on the Association’s Web site at http://www.saddlebred.com/html/files/1134_001.pdf

 

The following payments are due by Monday, June 11:

Fee to nominate yearlings - $75.00 (or $125.00 due September 15, 2007 if not nominated in June)

Fee for nominated two-year-olds: $200.00    

 

The fee of $200 for current two-year-olds must be received in the ASHA office by Monday, June 11 in order to maintain eligibility for the 2007 ASR Two-Year-Old Sweepstakes. Payments will not be accepted after the grace period deadline and eligibility will be forfeited. Yearlings may be nominated for the 2008 Two-Year-Old Sweepstakes with a payment of $75 if received in the ASHA office by the Monday, June 11 grace period deadline. To nominate a yearling for the 2008 Two-Year-Old Sweepstakes after the June 11 grace period deadline, a payment of $125 must be received in the ASHA office by September 15, 2007.

 

The ASR Sweepstakes awarded more than $170,000 in prize money in 2006: $39,355 in the Two-Year-Old, $87,508 in the Three-Year-Old and $45,959 in the Four-Year-Old Sweepstakes.

 

The ASR Sweepstakes classes are held at the All American Horse Classic in Indianapolis, Indiana, in September and are conducted under the rules of the U.S. Equestrian Federation. For more information, contact Patricia Edwards at p.edwards@asha.net or (859) 259-2742 ext. 320.
