Ruth Parkinson Arrangements

Ruth Parkinson passed away quietly in her sleep Sunday morning. She was 81. Known to much of the horse world simply as "Grandma Ruth", she spent most of her life in the show horse world having been married to legandary saddlebred trainer Max Parkinson and then later working for Dabora, Inc as Managing Editor of Horse World. “Ruth was a very special member of the Dabora family,” said Christy Parsons. “She was a hard-working professional with a vibrant personality. There are many Ruth stories in the old Dabora lore, and those stories will always make us laugh and smile when we think of her.”

She also was a writer for both The Morgan Connection and The Morgan Horse.

A small graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 17, at 10:30 am. The funeral home is Ellinger, Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 N. 5th, Springfield, IL 62702, 217-544-5755 phone. Should anyone want to, her brother has requested that donations in her name go to the Brunk Morgan Horse Museum, (217) 529-4623.
