Ohio Limited Breeders Auction set for Feb. 25

Lexington, Kentucky ­– The Ohio Limited Breeders Stallion Service Auction will take place Saturday, February 25 at the Springfield-Clark County Ohio Equine Facility, near Springfield, Ohio.

 

The doors will open at 5:15 p.m. with dinner at 5:30 p.m.  The cost of the dinner is $15.00/person with tickets available at the door.  Reservations would be appreciated by calling Claire Messerly at (740) 654-1101.

 

Following the dinner, ASHA President Fred Sarver will address the audience on matters from the Association, as well as share his knowledge on stallion and broodmare management.  The auction will take place after the speech with Matt Schuckert as the auctioneer. 

 

The Ohio Limited Stallion Service Auction awards 40 percent of the jackpot to the winning weanling with 70 percent going to the weanling owner and 30 percent to the stallion donor.  The prize program pays through sixth place.

Stallion owners should note that beginning with the 2006 auction (2007 weanlings) all stallion owners whose stallion services sold in the prior year will also be eligible to designate a weanling at a flat fee of $500.00, regardless of what amount the stallion service sold for.  More details on this program improvement will be available the night of the auction.
