Ohio Hackney Association Banquet

The Ohio Hackney Association held its annual meeting and 2007 High Points Award Banquet at the Holiday Inn in Sidney, Ohio on March 15 and 16, 2008. President Ronald Yount opened the event by welcoming the members and guests. Attendees enjoyed a delicious dinner and awards presentation, as well as the very successful Trash and Treasure Auction.
The following slate of officers and directors were presented for 2008: Ronald Yount, president; David Estis, vice-president; Eileen Yount, secretary/treasurer. Current 2008 board members are Pam Ahrens, Richard Bevins, Beverly Dunn, David Estis, Jana Lee Inkrott, Jon Inkrott, Terry McKenzie Jr., Lynda Molnar, Matt Schuckert, Connie Smith, Ronald Yount and Tammy Yount.
Member David Estis gave the invocation, and dinner was presented by Jake’s at the Holiday Inn.

AHHS Foundation President Jay Kennedy along with Secretary Charlotte Carter updated everyone on current activities of the Foundation. Four of the American Hackney Horse Society Board of Directors were present during the evening: David Estis, Pat Kennedy, Matt Schuckert and Jim Spurrier.
This year’s Trash and Treasure Auction saw Matt Schuckert as auctioneer with David Estis, Jim Spurrier and Ron Yount as bid spotters.
Some of the Association Fundraising projects for 2009 are the annual calendar and Hackney Lover’s Cookbook. The annual calendar has some ad spaces still available. The Ohio Hackney Futurity date is Friday, July 25, 2008, at the Ohio State Fairgrounds. President Ron Yount, along with all the Ohio Hackney Association Board, wishes to invite everyone to become members and participate in the Association’s 2008 events and programs.
