Obituary-Roberta Foley



    

Roberta Martin Foley, 89, of Louisville, Ky., died Thursday, March 30, 2006. She was a native of Sulphur, Ky., a graduate of Spencerian College, a member of Middletown Christian Church Senior Citizens and the American Saddlebred Horse Association.

 

Roberta was an avid Saddlebred horse owner, who enjoyed seeing her horses and her horse trainer daughter, Debbie Foley, win numerous titles at the World Championships as well as other local shows.  She had owned such champions as Premier’s High Tide, At The Stroke Of Midnight, Here I Am Again, Caramac’s Big Ticket and Closing Scene.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Ira Foley; and her parents, Leonard and Lyda Gividen. Survivors include her children, Debbie Foley, Barbara Hammond and Don Foley (Alice); grandchildren, Scott, Julie, Jamie, Brett, and Bart Foley, and Jennifer Rankin; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lorena Vandevelde. Funeral services were held Monday, April 3 at the Pearson-Ratterman Funeral Home.
