Obituary - JoAnn Riddell Brandt




JoAnn Riddell Brandt, age 68, Zionsville, passed away
Friday, January 27, 2006 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born April 27, 1937 in Evansville, IN to the late Thomas and Josephine (Jackson) Riddell.

JoAnn was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School and received her Bachelors Degree in Education from Depauw University in 1959. JoAnn was a Girl Scout volunteer, 4-H mother, beekeeper, and a master gardener. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Sunnyside Guild. She was past-president of Indiana Therapeutic Riding & Driving Committee, Indianapolis Zoo Guild, and the Indiana Morgan Horse Show Committee. JoAnn was a Sunday school teacher and an "Apple Lady" at Stuckey Orchard. Her greatest love was her family. She also had a passion for TAB, gardening, watching wildlife out her back window and shoveling manure.

Surviving her are daughters, Deb and husband Craig, Lisa and Kris; sisters, Carolyn and Mary Lou; nieces and nephews, Mindy, Matt, Mike, Amy, Tom, and Ann; Australian family, Kathy and Cameron Main. JoAnn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, William C. "Chuck" Brandt, Jr.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, where friends may call beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Indiana Therapeutic Riding and Driving Committee, Girl Scout Council of Hoosier Capital, and the Indianapolis Zoo.
