National Academy Championships Moves and Improves

The National Academy Championship Finals moved for their fifth annual show to the Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro, Tenn. located just south of Nashville, Tenn. This facility provides 500 permanent stalls under one roof and a covered warm up ring and indoor arena. With excellent facilities and hospitality provided at every turn, the show enjoyed a successful turnout. Trainers from across the Southeast, Kentucky and the Carolinas converged on the arena where Show Manager Joyce Webster made sure that everyone had a good time.

The welcome party featured a delicious barbecue along with great games for the kids to enjoy as their parents visited with friends and trainers.

Judges for this year’s show were Nancy Troutman, Salem, Va., Cindy Z. Boel, Prospect, Ky. and Anne T. Speck, Valley Center, Calif. In addition to the regular slate of Saddlebred academy classes were Hunt Seat classes (including equitation and hunter pleasure) and some Tennessee Walking Horse classes. Proceeds from the show continue to go to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
