Madison Classic Changes Name, Location

Officials of the Madison Classic have opted to put on a show during their regularly scheduled dates. Renamed the May Classic Horse Show, it will be held May 27-30 at the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds, West Allis, Wisconsin.

The same crew of Vicky Holston, Tuffy Owens, Ken Berget, Lynda Freseth, and other familiar faces will be in the trenches giving the area a horse show that weekend. The theme of the show will be “Staying Alive,” which was a hit song by the Bee Gees. The theme refers to keeping our horse show alive and well!

A Costume class, Pro/Am class and an aisle party are a few of the added events to the show that will carry on the theme from the ‘70s. Suzy Shiflet will officiate along with Dewey Bass as her ringmaster and Jon McCarthy as photographer. Due to a limited number of stalls available, tack stalls will be limited and sponsorships will be key to this show’s success.

Host hotel for the show will be the Hampton Inn & Suites, 8201 W. Greenfield Ave, West Allis, Wisconsin, (414) 436-2300. The Radisson Milwaukee West, (414) 257-3400 is also available.

“Please put it on your calendar and help us make it a success,” said Vicky Holston.
