Kids Weekend at Kentucky Horse Park



 

Lexington, KY --- Every weekend at the Kentucky Horse Park is great for kids and families, but it gets even better during the eighth annual  Kids Weekend, August 6-7

 

During Kids Weekend, children ages 12 and under are admitted to the park free of charge.  The weekend will include the Babies R Us Back to School Fashion Show emceed by Chris Bailey and sponsored by Babies R Us and Lundy’s Catering, appearances by Geoffrey the Giraffe from Toys R Us, a rock climbing wall, mechanical bull, arts & crafts, pony rides, magic show, stick horse races and much more.  The Parade of Breeds, Draft Horse show, Best of the West Show (Saturday only), two museums and other exhibitions are all on the list of options both days.  Best of all, the park’s beautiful horses are just waiting to be petted.  There will be plenty of great family fun in a wholesome environment all weekend.

The Kentucky Horse Park is open seven days a week, from 9 am to 5 pm.  Regular admission is $14 for adults, $7 for children ages 7-12 and free for children six and under.   Admission includes the Kentucky Bloodlines exhibition and the American Saddlebred Museum.

  • Sunday Night Excitement

    With the Junior Exhibitor Park class being split, 14 events were held on the Sunday evening session, which started at 6:30 p.m. with the ASR Sweepstakes Four-Year-Old Fine Harness class. That class gave the general spectators their thrill for the night as Debbie Foley lost a wheel on her buggy and the horse got loose momentarily. Everything ended okay but she could not get everything back together in the allotted time.  Read More
