Kentucky State Fair Junior Judging Contest
Tuesday, September 5, 2006
At the 2006 Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show, 44 youths participated in the junior judging contest that has been an institution at the World’s Championships for many years now. Coordinated by the ASHA Youth Committee, comprised of Paula Harris, Brenda Newell, and Co-Chairs Kay Richardson and Sally McConnell, the event was again a huge success. Fennell’s Horse Supply donated a complete English show bridle as the prize for first place. Second place received a horse print, signed and donated by the artist, Ann Crick Badgett. After judging four classes and agreeing the most with the judging panel in center ring, Ethan Roetman, Stillwater, Minn., was awarded as the 14-17 age group winner. Lexie Flint, Fairmont, W.Va., had a sharp eye to take home the 13 and under first place prize.
