Dr. Wayne T. Moses and Louis J. Labadini, co-founders of the Humanitarian Society, presented Mae Volen Senior Center CEO, Elizabeth Lugo, with a new wheelchair for a client in need as a result of The Humanitarian Society's Challenge of Champions World Class Charity Horse Show.  The horse show raises moneys for needy causes each year.

The client has been a paraplegic for over ten years. "She also lost her young child in the accident and prefers to remain anonymous. This chair will greatly improve her life and make her more mobile." The chair was purchased by The Humanitarian Society.

"Mae Volen contacted us about this particular client and we didn't hesitate for a moment," Moses said.  He also said, "We are often so caught up in our destination that we forget to appreciate the journey. Especially the goodness of the people we meet along the way. Appreciation is a wonderful feeling, don't overlook it."

The Humanitarian Society is approaching its 20th birthday in March 2008 and provides assistance to needy Broward and Palm Beach County families.
