Members' Retreat - Public Trade/Photo Show & Seminars - Photographic Workshops

The international group, Equine Photographers Network, www.equinephotographers.net, is sponsoring a Winter Conference to further its overall goal: to encourage professional development and enhance career opportunities for the Equine Photographer. A Members Only Retreat is planned for members of the Equine Photographers Network followed by a Trade/Photo Show & Seminar day to educate & delight all photographers and horse lovers.

The Trade/Photo Show & Seminars day takes place Saturday, February 15, 2003, at the Carefree Conference Resort, Carefree, AZ. This day packed with activities including; atrade show where photo product and service sponsors and vendors will display and discuss what they offer, demos, door prizes, raffles, silent auction and more, a photo show and competition with two divisions, pro and amateur to be judged with awards to 6th place in each division including cash awards in the pro division. There will be business education for all photographers in all genres provided by Outreach EP, a program of the group Editorial Photographers www.editorialphoto.com ). EP is more than 3500 working photographers, students, and educators nationwide, including some of the best known names in the business, whose goal is to explain the benefits, and encourage the use, of sound business practices among creatives in an effort to save our profession. An inspirational overview of the 25 year career of Susan Sexton, internationally known equine photographer will also be held. A low cost three hour workshop covering information on career options in photography as well as getting started as a freelancer or part-timer will take place.

Ever thought about selling your photos but aren't sure how to go about it? If you've been actively photographing for at least several years and are regularly making high-quality images that you think are publishable, then this might be the class for you. Equine Photographers Workshops then take place the following day, Sunday, February 16, 2003, at the Red Vista Ranch, Cave Creek, AZ. These half day seminars are open to all and will be led by two expert established pros: Susan Sexton: Photographing the Sport Horse Workshop, and Patty McClure-Hosmer of HoofPrints®: Shooting the Western/Stock Breed Halter Horse Workshop Participation in these hands-on workshops is limited.
