Dancing Carousel
Dancing Carousel, age 12, was humanely put down September 5, 2007 due to complications from laminitis. Bred by Dick Wallen, Carousel was by Circus Prince and out of Love And Honor (x Pal-O-Mine’s Royal Reverie).
Carousel began his decade-long show career as a weanling with a blue ribbon in the ASH Futurity of Iowa under the direction of Monty Wallen. This successful team was named 1997 reserve world’s champion in the Two Year-Old Five-Gaited division at Louisville. They went on to win numerous championships in the Midwest, including Madison, Milwaukee and Kansas City.
This charismatic, colorful gelding entertained many spectators with his enthusiasm and had a huge fan club wherever he went. He was purchased by Kandi Rust in 1999 and continued his winning ways on the Midwest Show Circuit showing in Park, Park Pleasure, and Show Pleasure with Kandi training and showing him. Carousel was the ultimate Saddlebred show horse - he lived for the show ring.
The Rust family would like to take this opportunity to thank Carousel's friends and fans for their kind expressions of sympathy. He will be greatly missed by all.
