Equine Death… Super Spy

Super Spy and Shannon Ella

Dearly loved by all those who were ever around him, the multi-titled champion Hackney Pleasure Driving pony Super Spy succumbed to colic, January 16, 2008. He spent his last few years with the Larry Ella family where Shannon Ella showed him with great success.

Super Spy, known to many as Snoopy, was bred and raised by Wendy Johnson’s Copper Coin Farm. He is out of the mare Mata Hari, thus the name Super Spy. Johnson sold Snoopy to the noted west coast Hackney owner/breeder Mrs. John Pritzlaff who later sold him to Bob and Nancy Anderson with Lynda and Andy Freseth of Hollow Haven Farm as their trainer.

The Andersons’ granddaughter, Whitney Anderson, drove Snoopy to the 2000 World’s Champion Of Champions title, one of many victory passes he made over an eight year period for different members of the Anderson family.

Next he spent some time taking top prizes for the McKibbage family and then Rodney Root before finding a lasting home with Larry Ella and his daughter Shannon. Snoopy and Shannon encompassed the ultimate partnership between a pony and a showman. In fact, Shannon was named AHHS’s 2007 Junior Exhibitor Of The Year.

“I couldn’t have received such an honor without Snoop,” said Shannon.
