Dancing With Our Stars

During the UPHA/AHHS Convention in Hilton Head Island, Jan. 8-10, 2009, the UPHA and AHHS Foundation will hold a Dancing With Our Stars fundraiser. Modeled after the TV show, "Dancing With The Stars", contestants will be noted trainers, amateurs and officials of the Saddlebred and Hackney world. The preliminaries will be held Thursday night with the semi-finals on Friday night and the finals on Saturday night.

Each couple is responsible for its own music, costume and dance. One to three dances can be prepared but only one is required. The dance is open to all members of UPHA, AHHS, ASHA, AMHA, ARHPA or any other breed with membership in USEF.

The winning entry will receive the now famous "Mirrored Ball" trophy and cash prize as determined by donations for each couple. There will also be a Judges’ Choice award, People's Choice award, Best Costume award and Most Entertaining Couple award.

Donations will benefit the AHHS Foundation earmarked for expansion of youth activities/scholarships and the UPHA Benevolent Fund donations will be tax-deductible.
