Convention Youth Activity Planned for Saturday Morning

Winter fun is a walk in the park!
Youth participants at the UPHA National Convention are offered the opportunity to step from the Park Plaza hotel onto picturesque Boston Common for a fresh air agenda of ice skating and sledding options. We will meet in the lobby on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. and leave by 9:30. We will be back at the hotel by 11:30 to allow time to go to the Ribbons Of Service Luncheon at noon.

In America's oldest park, the young and young and heart will have the opportunity to ice skate outdoors on the Boston Common Frog Pond Ice Skating Rink gliding in the expansive, picturesque park, bordered in the distance by the gleaming sentinels of the Boston concrete skyline. In addition, participants may enjoy sledding in an adjacent area, in a tradition dating back to the 1850's when Revolutionary War soldier occupation interfered with children's favorite 'coasting' routes. Walk into yesteryear just steps from the heart of the convention, for a morning of good old fashioned fun steeped in tradition and charm. This trip will be supervised and assistance from experienced skaters will be provided. Bring your skates, or rentals are available.

In the event of inclement weather, another wonderful and top rated activity is planned.
