Carolinas Riding Instructors Forum to be held at ASAC Convention

A Riding Instructors Forum will be held at the ASAC Convention on January 28 from 1:00 to 2:30. This is an informative forum for instructors to trade tips, review academy rules and discuss ideas.  Ted Foreman will moderate the Forum. Ideas for an Instructors Certification Program will also be discussed.

Copies of the book "Teaching Safe Horsemanship" will be available for purchase. This book covers safe teaching topics and covers several liability issues. Depending on how many are pre-ordered, the book should cost between $10 and $15 for ASAC members. Anyone who is unable to attend the forum and would like a book can order the book directly from: http://www.horsemanshipsafety.com/book_orders.html

A poster explaining "Proper Helmet Fitting" will also be available at a price of $2 each. This is a good poster to post in barns. Anyone unable to attend can order these posters at
http://www.usef.org/content/safety/

For any interested instructors, a riding instructors survey is available. The survey can be taken by instructors across the county since the numbers can be broken into regions. This survey has about 70 questions pertaining to policies and pricing. The survey can be emailed, faxed or mailed upon request. The surveys need to be returned by January 23 to be included. Due to the nature of the questions, the survey results will only be available to survey participants.

Anyone interested in taking the survey or ordering a book or poster, contact Betsy Boone at (704) 932-8586 or (704) 796-3057 or boonescabin@aol.com. Book pre-orders are due by January 19th.
