Candids of the Week




High Spirits Farm had six victory passes on Saturday night at UPHA Chapter 5, including the Five-Gaited Grand Championship with I’m A Blues Man. Some of the team included Jayne Pearman, Dr. Carla Pearman, Robert Gardiner, Anna Marie Knipp and Carolyn Miller Moore.


The ASHA/AMHA Trainers’ Equitation Cup was a hit at UPHA Chapter 5 with that show taking the lead in the Fund Raising competition. Pictured are the Top 4 (R - L) from a field of 13 determined professionals: Champion Amanda Simpson, Reserve Champion Kelly Kraegel, Kent Swalla (4th) and Missy Smith (3rd).


Jackson successfully photo-bombed the picture of his parents and winners of the Bruce Dixon Memorial Trainer’s Award at the Horse Show At Woodside. Stacy Hennessy and Gerry Rushton brought a big group and led them to several wins at the show.


The Carriage Lane gang celebrated not only successful Bonnie Blue but also Betsy Thomas’ birthday during the week.


From UPHA Chapter 5, Peyton Bartley and Shimmer topped the Junior Exhibitor Morgan Classic Pleasure Championship under the direction of Phil Fountain.


Smith Lilly and Catherine Wheeler went head to head in the Five-Gaited Championship at Bonnie Blue with Lilly winning aboard He’s Born To Royalty and Wheeler claiming the reserve title with Nuttin’ But Talk.



New owner Sharon Bender drove GLB Man Of The Hour to win the Morgan Classic Pleasure Driving Championship under the direction of former trainers Mary Cockriel and Bob Kellert. Bender purchased the multi-titled grand national and world champion from former owner/breeder Lorraine Bumb. Jennifer Dixon is the new trainer.



The Moctezuma Stables' youth finished up strong at FASH Spring Horse Show. Patrick Weiler and Captain Proud won the Open Road Pony Championship while Cassidy Vote and Moonstruck In Kentucky captured the Country Pleasure Championship.


Sydney Sullivan, showing in her very first horse show, rode Sally Nottage’s entry Winsdown Rolling Rock to win three academy classes under the direction of Far Niente Stables trainer Dana Paparo.


Royalee Cleveland and Berryred took the victory pass in the Five-Gaited Pleasure class from Dreamcatcher Saddlebreds at The Horse Show at Woodside.
