Canadian Road Horse Association Revving up for Royal Winter Fair



ERIN, ON - The Canadian Road Horse Association (CRHA) is revving up for the 2007 Royal Winter Fair in Toronto with a number of exciting classes and activities planned.

 

OHHA (Ontario Harness Horse Association) Green Roadster Classic to Bike - nominations are now closed and posted on the CRHA website.  The CRHA is very pleased to announce that there are an outstanding 23 horses nominated this year for this very prestigious class of which 18 have been entered at the Royal.  There will be two qualifying classes held in the afternoon of Friday, November 2.  The top 10 horses will then compete in the Classic final on Saturday night. This class is very generously sponsored by the Ontario Harness Horsemen’s Association.  Once again, we thank them for their continuing support and look forward to an exciting class at this fall’s Royal Winter Fair! 

 

2007 Hall of Fame Induction - Following the Classic final on Saturday. Nov. 3, the CRHA is hosting a Wine and Cheese celebration where our 2007 Hall of Fame inductees, the late Les and Pearl Lawrence, will be honoured for their accomplishments and contributions to the Association and the road horse.  All OHHA members and supporters are also invited to attend as well as those who donated stallion services for our successful Silent Stallion Auction held this past spring. Please be sure to join us on the upper west side of the Horse Palace in “Road Horse Lane.”

 

Royal Agricultural Winter Fair - takes place in Toronto from November 2 to

11. Accepted entries and results can be viewed at Equestrian Management Group which administers the Horse Show.  The road horse schedule for this year’s Royal is:  Green Class Qualifier - Fri., Nov. 2 - Aft; Green Class Final - Sat., Nov. 3 - Eve; Ladies Bike - Fri., Nov. 2 - Eve; Under Wagon - Sat., Nov. 3 - Morn; Over Wagon - Sat., Nov. 3 - Aft.; Over Bike - Mon., Nov. 5 - Eve; Under Bike - Tues., Nov. 6 - Morn; Wagon Stake - Tues., Nov. 6 - Eve; Bike Stake - Wed., Nov. 7 - Eve.  Best of luck to all at the 2007 Royal!!!

 

Authentic Southern-Style BBQ Dinner — The CRHA is again hosting a terrific dinner at this year’s Royal Agricultural Winter Fair on Monday, November 5 at 5:00 p.m. in Aisle E at the Thomas Stables.  All are invited.  Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 for children under 10 and will be available in advance from Linda Rainey or at the Royal from Linda, Joanne Heath, Helen Thomas, or Sherri Archdekin.  Get yours early!!!  Last year's dinner was a huge success with a fantastic meal, and tickets are sure to be at a premium for this year's repeat performance!  Please bring your own chair. 

 

CRHA Directors Meeting - All directors please note that there will be a meeting held at the Royal in the afternoon on Saturday, November 3  at 3:30 p.m. following the Under Wagon class at Howard Salisbury’s tack room.

 

OHA Annual Aisle Party - The Ontario Hackney Society would like to invite everyone to their Annual Aisle Party.  It will be held on Friday, November 9 in front on Larry Ella’s tack room beginning at 9:00 p.m. following the final Hackney class of the evening.
