ASHA Annual Auction Bids Currently Being Accepted Online



Lexington, Ky. ­– Bids for ASHA Annual Auction items are currently being accepted via the Internet through BidSpotter.com at http://www.bidspotter.com/forms/event.php?event=4628. Bids will continue to be accepted in conjunction with the live auction during the Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show. The “in person” portion of the live auction will begin Thursday, August 23 at 1:30 p.m. in the Mary Room of the Executive West Hotel in Louisville.

 

ASHA Annual Auction Schedule (All events to be held in the Mary Room of the Executive West Hotel in Louisville)

 

Wednesday, August 22

10 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Silent auction begins.

*Selection of designer purses becomes available on a first-come, first-serve basis to those who purchase a $50 ticket.

 

Thursday, August 23

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Silent auction continues.

1:30 p.m. – Live auction begins with auctioneer Jim Price.

*Registered adult bidders’ numbers will be entered into the Grand Giveaway drawing to win $1,000. Must be present to win, but no purchase is necessary to be eligible to win.

2 to 3 p.m. – Autograph session with last year’s World’s Grand Champion trainers Smith Lilly, Todd Miles and John Jones.

2:30 p.m. – ASHA Annual Raffle drawing.

 

Auction booklets will be available at the stables, various hotels and the Saddlebred Center at Freedom Hall beginning Sunday, August 20. Among the most attractive auction items this year will again be a premium covered terrace box of six seats on the third level for the 2008 Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. Other items include a Tommy Lovell rocking horse and a fine harness from Walsh Harness. Additionally, Hollywood celebrity and sports memorabilia will be featured – including a Ron Turcotte signed photo of the jockey riding Secretariat to victory; Muhammad Ali signed collage; Arnold Palmer signed Masters pin flag; football signed by Peyton Manning; Dale Earnhardt Sr. signed photo; Pete Rose signed baseball bat; Antoine Walker signed University of Kentucky basketball collage; and items signed by Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino and Louisville native Johnny Depp. Photos of several items are viewable at www.saddlebred.com/auction.

Proceeds from the auction benefit the American Saddlebred Youth Programs, including scholarships.
