ASAW Ushers in Midwest's Academy Show Circuit

The ASAW Spring Premier Academy Horse Show on March 14 and 15 at Wild Wood Equestrian Center in Waukesha WI is the kick off for the Midwest academy show season.  With proceeds from the show going to the ASAW Scholarship Fund, the heated facility makes a great location to start off your 2009 academy season.  The Wisconsin and Illinois area has the distinction of being the original academy circuit dating back to 1972.  Original coordinators Bonnie Kittridge, Dawn Atlas, and Carolyn Folkers hosted the show at the historic Harmswood Stables in Morton Grove IL.  UPHA Chapter 10 is now hosting the show twice a year at Indian Hills Equestrian Center in Elgin IL.  The show has grown into a 2 day show with a variety of classes from leadline to advanced pattern classes.  What has started out as a few scattered shows over the area has blossomed into a impressive list of over 16 shows a year with venues ranging from all academy to B rated show and a few impressive A rated show such  as Madison Classic and the ASAW Summerfun Show.

Anyone interested in obtaining info on the ASAW Spring Premier show can contact Nancy Turner at 262-719-3753 or ntkfltd@gmail.com .  Prize list is also available on Horse Show Calendar.
