World Pony Championship Update

Morgan driver Sara Schmitt of Glen Gardner, New Jersey, placed tenth in the World Pony Driving Championship that concluded July 17 in Derbyshire, England. Driving her High Country Doc (Paradox Madison x Mir Roy Crystal), Sara placed ninth in Dressage, 24th in the marathon phase, and sixth in cones, finishing in tenth place overall. The United States team, coached by Morgan driver Lisa Singer, came in fifth place overall.

Courage To Lead (Courage Of Equinox x Hartland Sable), owned by Beverly Lesher of
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was selected to compete, but was forced to withdraw due to a torn muscle. The mare is expected to make a full recovery and return to competition next year.
