Wolin Earns Second UPHA Adult Challenge Cup National Final Title



A competitive group of five riders entered the Kentucky Horse Park Rolex Arena Friday, July 15, 2022, vying for the 2022 UPHA Adult Challenge Cup National Final champion title closing out the morning session of the Lexington Junior League Charity Horse Show. Judges for the final were Chris Brannan, Lynda Freseth, and William Greenwell. Following the completion of rail and pattern work, Dr. Morgan Wolin from Chicago, Illinois was named the National Champion. Wolin rode Zwee to top honors under the instruction of Chad Cole, Signature Stables. This was Dr. Wolin's second UPHA Adult Challenge Cup National Champion title having won the first title in 2009.



The reserve champion was Anje Dercksen, from South Africa riding Ludovic. Dercksen is instructed in the U.S. by Jacqueline Visser, Visser Stables. Ludovic is owned by Diane Sembler Kamins.

The UPHA Challenge Cup was established in 1972 to encourage competition for saddle seat equitation riders throughout the nation. The UPHA Adult Challenge Cup began in 1987. The mission of the United Professional Horsemen's Association Foundation is to encourage and promote educational activities and competition related to the sport of showing horses. Through our Challenge Cup programs, many juvenile and adult riders have increased their equine knowledge and athletic skill.
