Wisconsin Limited Breeders Stake Stallion Service Auction

The 25th annual Dr. Rick Luft Limited Breeders’ Stake of Wisconsin Stallion Service Auction will be held Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at the Delafield Hotel in Delafield, Wis., a suburb of Milwaukee. A special overnight room rate is available with reference to the Wisconsin Futurity. The phone is 262-646-1600. The evening will begin with complimentary cocktails and silent auction at 4:30 p.m. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. The live stallion auction will immediately follow dinner and will feature some of the nation’s most sought after stallions. The resulting weanlings can compete for substantial prize money at the Wisconsin Futurity Horse Festival in 2011. All offspring of the stallions sold at this auction will be eligible for the 2014 Wisconsin Futurity Three-Year-Old Incentive class, which stands separate of the Weanling Breeders’ Stake.

The Dr. Rick Luft Limited Breeders’ Stake of Wisconsin was the first American Saddlebred Weanling Breeders’ Stake in the nation. Since its conception, it has paid out more than $1.5 million to weanling and stallion owners. In 2009, the first place weanling won $28,800 with $7,200 of that being paid out to the stallion owner.

Visit www.wisconsinsaddlebred.com to view the current list of stallions committed to the 2010 auction as well as rules and stallion contracts. The web site will be updated weekly. Phone bids and major credit cards are also accepted. To participate in this original, fun and financially rewarding event contact Joe D. Russell at 815-341-6023 or email hkfarm@aol.com.
