William W. Bridwell Obituary




    William Warren "Bill" Bridwell, 73, of 1150 Reid School Road, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005. Born in Taylors, S.C., he was a son of the late James Kirby and Pearl Bridges Bridwell. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war.
   Mr. Bridwell was the owner and operator of Greenville Mechanical and a member of the South Carolina Mechanical Contractors Association.
He was an avid horse lover and was highly regarded in the Saddlebred industry and owned several world’s champion Roadster ponies, including Nokomis and Speed Limit, shown by Sam Brannon, and Miss Sensation, shown by his daughter, Donna Whatley. Bridwell attended shows in the Carolinas and Kentucky up until last year. He had recently purchased his granddaughter Kaitlin Whately her first horse, Carolina Clay, from Raymond Shively and Todd Miles.
   Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, June and Jimmy Boling, and Donna and John Whatley. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Natalie Boling, Lawson Boling and Kaitlin Whatley. A grave side service was held Feb. 14.
