Matteus van den Berg

It was a sad day for the American Saddlebred fraternity in South Africa as Matteus van den Berg, 41 years of age, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 5, 2003. A blood clot passed through the lungs. His family was called after he was admitted on Wednesday to a Kimberley hopital. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 11.
Matteus was a well known judge, breeder and presenter of horses at all regional shows and at Bloemfontein Nationals. His three-gaited horse Jim Dandy was a South African Champion. Matteus loved the American Saddlebred.
