UPHA Classics Incentive Sale Coming Up



The 2012 UPHA Incentive Sale is Returning to the UPHA American Royal National Championship. The sale again this year will be on UPHA Classics Night. Yearlings and two year olds American Saddlebreds in training and two and three year old Hackney Ponies in training will be sold at the sale, which will be held immediately following the UPHA Five Gaited Classic Grand Championship on Thursday evening, November 15, 2012, the sale will begin by 9:00pm.

Entries close Monday October 8th, 2012.

The purpose of this sale is to raise incentive money to be paid back on the national level in the UPHA Classics program, offering breeders a viable marketplace for their American Saddlebreds and Hackney Ponies.  American Saddlebred Two Year Olds purchased through the 2012 sale will be eligible as three year olds in 2013, to compete for the incentive money raised from this sale. American Saddlebred Yearlings purchased through the 2012 sale will be eligible as three year olds in 2014, to compete for the incentive money raised from this sale. Hackney Pony Three Years Olds purchased through the 2012 sale will be eligible as Four Year Olds in 2013, to compete for the incentive money raised from this sale. Hackney Pony Two Year Olds purchased through the 2012 sale will be eligible as Three Year Olds in 2013 or Four Year Olds in 2014, they are only eligible to compete for the incentive money raised from this sale once. The culmination will be at the 2013 and 2014 UPHA/American Royal National Championship Horse Shows, when bonus money will be awarded to the eligible horse/pony that placed highest in the following UPHA Classics Championships.

 American Saddlebred Divisions -UPHA Three Year Old Five-Gaited, UPHA Three Year Old Three-Gaited, UPHA Three Year Old Fine Harness and UPHA Three Year Old Park Pleasure

 Hackney Pony Divisions—UPHA Hackney Pony, UPHA Harness Pony, UPHA Roadster Pony and UPHA Pleasure Pony

Prize money awarded in the UPHA Classics Incentive program so far totals over $224,000, with 10% of that total being paid back to the original consignors!

American Saddlebred Yearlings will be presented through the sale in hand, and all Two Year Olds will be presented through the sales arena, in harness or under saddle, as they would be shown under United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) guidelines. Hackney Pony Two Year Olds will be present in hand or in stud tack, Three Year Olds will be presented through the sales area in harness, as they would be shown under United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) guidelines.
