UPHA Chapter 9 - 3rd Annual Horsemen and Women's Select Fall Sale




For the third year, members of UPHA Chapter 9 are putting on a most unique and fun event. It’s always a good thing when funds can be raised for a good cause. It’s even better when participants have a blast doing it. What is it? It’s the UPHA Chapter 9’s 3rd Annual Horsemen and Women's Select Fall Sale! This year’s proceeds are being directed to help defray the expenses of trainer Mark Webster and his family in the face of his recent accident.

The auction will be held Thursday, October 6th during the UPHA Chapter 9 KY Fall Classic Horse Show, in the Club House Lounge (located at the end of the show arena).

HoneyBaked Ham and a cash bar will be provided starting at
6pm, with the auction beginning at 7pm. Entertainment will be provided by the ever-popular musician Chad Graham.

Multi-WGC LARRY HODGE: enjoy a day at the famous Kalarama Farm with Larry and his hard working crew.

Multi-WC's CHRIS AND CHRISTY GANTLEY: take a tour of their Winding Creek Farm, drive a pony and enjoy a boxed lunch provided by noted cookbook author, Susie Quick.

DON MATTINGLY: Here is your chance to meet and enjoy dinner with the former New York Yankees MVP. Don is now the current hitting coach for the New York Yankees. Dinner will be with Don, his wife Kim and trainers Jimmy and Helen Robertson at Pat's Steak House in
Louisville, KY. The purchaser will also receive an autographed baseball!

WGC JOHN CONATSER: sells with a day at the famous Keeneland Race Track in
Lexington, KY. Purchaser and a guest will enjoy the day dining with John and wife, Tammie, in the Lafayette Room that overlooks the finish line.

ASHA President FRED SARVER: spend an afternoon touring Leatherwood Farm and having lunch at Louie's, located in historic
Paris, KY. Here is your chance to voice your concerns and praise for the ASHA!

UPHA President WGC RANDY HARPER: sells with a day at the new Frickey Farm in
Shelbyville, KY. (other options Randy mentioned are "golf" or "a ride in my streetrod")!

Multi-WC TRE LEE: Learn training tips from Tre Lee and his mentor John T. Jones with a day at Rosemont Farm, in
Union, KY.

WGC DENA LOPEZ: your chance to spend two days at Double D Ranch learning the ins and outs of preparing and showing futurity babies!

WC Pony trainer JOEL BROWN: selling with a tour of
Kentucky's local favorite, Dinwiddie Lampton's Elmendorf Farm in beautiful Paris, KY. Also enjoy a carriage drive around the historic property!

WC
TARA DUFF: enjoy a lovely luncheon at the beautiful country home estate of hall of fame retired horse trainer Ellis Waggoner, and his wife Nancy. The Waggoner home which needs to be seen by the general public is filled with heirloom antiques (besides Mr. W) and George Ford Morris paintings. this is a unique opportunity to be able to pick Mr. Waggoner's brain about a variety of subjects. You will also learn and hear the unsolicited advice Mr. Waggoner shares with Lady Duff, who he has served for over 20 years as consultant and personal trainer.

Multi-WGC MICHELLE MACFARLANE and WC ASHLEY HALLOCK: selling with your choice of one of three options to visit beautiful
San Diego and Scripps Miramar Saddlebreds. The first option would include spending three days at Scripps Miramar Ranch, home of WGC Memories Citation and WGC Sprinkles. The three days would include a trail ride around the property to tour all 60 + acres of the ranch, a chance to watch Michele and her staff work horses, a stagecoach or carriage drive pulled by a team of four beautiful pinto Saddlebreds, your chance to learn to drive a pair of horses, and all the other attractions that San Diego has to offer (SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, first-class shopping, etc).
The second option would include spending the first weekend in December assisting the Scripps Miramar crew in two local
San Diego parades. Depending on the winner's riding ability, there is a possibility that he or she could ride in the parades as well. There would also be time to enjoy all that San Diego has to offer, in addition to spending time at the ranch partaking in a few of the activities listed in the first option.
The final option would include spending New Year's with Scripps Mirarmar assisting them in preparing for the 2006 Tournament of Roses Parade, which will take place on January 2nd. Time would be spent both in
San Diego and in Pasadena for the parade. Included in the preparations for the parade will be an exhibition by Michele and her team at Equestfest in Los Angeles. Once again, depending on the winner's riding ability, there is a possibility that he or she could ride in the exhibition.
For each option, two Southwest airline ticket vouchers for $250.00 each will be included as well as $500.00 towards your choice of hotel accommodations. Additional guests are welcome to accompany the winner at their own expense.

WGC ROB BYERS: is offering a month's worth free training at his renowned Premier Stables in
Simpsonville, KY!

WCs BILL & KRIS KNIGHT: Scenic aerial flight over the famous horse farms of Shelby County, KY for one with your captain, BILL "Boogie" KNIGHT. Following your flight, dinner for you and your guest with Bill and Kris at Bill's favorite
Louisville restaurant, Jack Fry's.

World Class entertainer CHAD GRAHAM & Multi-WC GABE DEKNATEL: selling together to perform a gig at a function of your choice. (party, etc)

WC BRET DAY: enjoy a day at Grey Ridge Farm watching Bret work yearlings to horses such as WC Bono and RWC The Social Butterfly.

Multi-WGC DON HARRIS: Enjoy a day at the farm with "The Master".

WC VICKI GILLENWATER: Purchase Vicki and receive rounds of golf for eight at The Medalist at Avalon in
Knoxville, TN (two groups of four) - pending advanced scheduling with Avalon - good for one year.
