UPHA Announces Ribbons of Service Changes

Increased scholarships will be now offered to eligible Academy and Arabian riders/drivers

The United Professional Horsemen's Association (UPHA) is pleased to announce exciting changes to its Ribbons of Service program. In an effort to be more inclusive and expand the program, Academy riders/drivers now have the opportunity to participate in the program. Moreover, additional scholarships have been added for Academy and Arabian performance riders.

The Ribbons of Service program now offers over $43,000 in scholarship money to participants. Riders raising a minimum of $1,000 in donations and performing a minimum of 10 hours of community service are eligible to apply for the scholarships. New this year, the CA Gabriel Fund has graciously donated two $2,000 scholarships for Arabian performance participants 17 & Under and 18-21 who raise the most funds in the program year. UPHA scholarships in the Academy division will be awarded to the top fundraiser and top service hours performer in both the Walk/Trot rider/driver and Walk/Trot/Canter sections.

The United Professional Horsemen's Association Ribbons of Service program seeks to impart on its members, aged 21 & under, the importance of community service. Through donating time and raising funds, the association hopes young members will learn valuable lessons while making a positive impact on their community. Since the program's inception, participants in the Ribbons of Service program have collected and distributed over $400,000 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and other charities.
