UPHA Announces Changes to UPHA Challenge Cup Equitation Finals

The United Professional Horsemen’s Association, Inc. (UPHA) is pleased to announce some exciting changes for the UPHA Challenge Cup Finals. The UPHA Challenge Cup program was established in 1972 to promote the sport of horsemanship and saddle seat equitation across multiple breeds; qualifying classes are held on the local level with 13 national finals at the year's end.

New for 2023

UPHA Adult Challenge Cup National Final
This Final will now be held at the UPHA American Royal National Championship in Kansas City, MO, November 6-11, 2023, allowing riders a longer qualifying period throughout the competition year.

UPHA Pleasure Challenge Cup National Finals
The Finals for both Junior and Senior pleasure riders will move to the Monarch National Championship in Springfield, Illinois, September 6-10, 2023. This move eliminates the conflict with other shows and allows riders more time between other pleasure finals.

UPHA National Show Horse Challenge Cup National Final
This Final will now be offered for riders 17 & under rather than split into separate classes for Junior and Senior riders. The UPHA National Show Horse Challenge Cup Final will be held at the NSHR National Championship Finals in Springfield, IL, September 14-16, 2023.

NEW! UPHA Morgan 10 & under Walk/Trot Challenge Cup National Final
We have added a Walk & Trot Final for Morgan riders to the Morgan Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show, in Oklahoma, OK, October 7-14, 2023.
