Undulata Farm Employees In Fatal Accident

James Hardin, a long-time employee and family friend of Edward R. Bennett of Undulata Farm located in Shelbyville, Ky., and Bernardo Perea, also an employee of Bennett, were involved in an accident while traveling along I-75 en route to Lexington on Wednesday, July 9. The gentlemen were driving an empty horse trailer and apparently lost control while slowing for traffic that was backed up due to road repairs, according to the Lexington Fayette Urban County Bureau of Traffic. The trailer swerved off of the road, flipped onto its side and burst into flames after sliding sideways into the ditch. Bernardo Perea of Shelbyville, Ky., who was driving the trailer, was treated at the scene. James “Jimmy” Hardin of Bloomfield, Ky., was airlifted to UK Hospital, but later passed away as a result of burn injuries sustained in the crash.
