"Twas The Week Before Christmas" at Lone Star Stables

‘Twas the week before Christmas,

when all through the stalls,

the customers were stirring,

planning a gift for halls!

The coolers were hung

by the horses with care,

what kind of gift would not

make their halls look so bare?

The horses were nestled,

all snug in their beds,

while memories of horse shows

replayed in their heads,

The tack and the gear

neatly tucked away,

when suddenly it was clear,

Let’s get show trunks

to start the New Year!

Customers at Lone Star Stable surprised their trainers Milo Jones and Koren Mercer with new tack trunks for their growing barn in the Houston area.   “Milo and I were overwhelmed,” says Koren who is very excited about several new combinations and new horses ready to hit the show circuit that will start in Texas next month.

The show string for Lone Star will include a new Country Pleasure Driving horse named Screen Idol for Corrine Stith.  Corrine has sold her pleasure driving horse Callaway’s Better Than Ever to Megan Weise who will show in the juvenile country pleasure division.

Other new combinations from Lone Star include Hannah Houske and Evil Cat headed for show pleasure, Jan Carroll and Selectively Wild warming up for the amateur gaited division.  The teams of Sara Bratcher and Executive Phorce, and Nicole Tucker and Simply Unpredictable, are also contenders in show pleasure.  Sharon Moritz who brought her Blues Traveler to Kentucky last summer has an exciting new two-year-old prospect she purchased from Corrine Stith named Totally Kool.

Nicole Tucker and Hannah Houske dreaming

of a New Year full of blue ribbons

and plenty of peppermints.

Ashley Whitehurst, John Brand, and Fay Stephens

wondering if Rudolph is country or country pleasure?

Lone Star Stable Stars celebrating a year

of top ribbons, good times and

memorable moments.

Jennifer Moritz, Sharon Moritz, Karla Moritz, and

Hannah Houske with big dreams for the New Year!
