Trainer Greg Carstens Passes Away

Carstens is pictured winning the Open Breed Pleasure Driving Stake at the 2017 Jingle Bell Horse Show with Robin Wilhite’s pony I’m In Heaven.

Legendary trainer Greg Carstens passed away today July 18, 2018 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his son Austin and daughter Kristen and four grandchildren. His bright blue eyes and quick smile were as much of a trademark as his training style and accomplishments.

Carstens had a long and successful career in the Saddlebred and Hackney Pony industries. His association with Seamair Farm and the Pritzlaff family produced many world’s and national champion Hackney ponies and his success continued with his Greg Carstens Stables.

We will update with information about arrangements as soon as they are finalized.
