Town Hall Meeting Kicks Off F.A.S.H. Horse Show

Bret Day, Melissa Moore, Scott Matton and Donna Pettry-Smith were panelists at an informal “Town Hall” meeting held in the AgStar building at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds Wednesday May 8th.

The town hall was attended by approximately 75 people and was live streamed on facebook via Horseshowwire.com. The purpose of the meeting was to provide a forum where people could ask questions about a variety of topics regarding the state of the industry today.

Topics discussed included Safe Sport policies, the pros and cons of possibly leaving USEF, the advantages for horse shows of being USEF rated or not and USEF drug rules.

A straw poll was taken at the end of the town meeting and attendees voted by an overwhelming majority that they were in favor of exploring options to leave USEF.

The F.A.S.H. Horse Show will begin Thursday morning, May 9th, under the direction of show manager Stephanie Peterson, and will host more than 150 classes through Sunday May 12th.

Bret Day, Melissa Moore and Michael Craghead will serve as the judging panel and Moore is judging the Morgan division.
