Summer Challenge of Champions Makes Changes

The 4th Annual Summer Challenge of Champions Charity Horse Show, held at the Winfield Riding Club show grounds, Winfield, WV has announced several important enhancements and changes to the show.

The dates for this year's show are August 5 & 6 with a 7:00pm start time Friday night and a 6:00pm time on Saturday night. This year's Judge will be Mr. Ray Yoder of Lexington, KY. Linda Wollaber will again be serving as the Official Photographer.

The KVHA Board of Directors has again chosen the Make-A-Wish Foundation as this year's charity of choice. The media session is scheduled for Friday afternoon again this year. The show organizers have developed solid working relationships with a variety of radio stations, newspapers and local TV stations. With that kind of media support it's no wonder that the spectator crowd is exceptional.

Artist/sculptor Patricia Crane has again been selected for this year's trophies. Her newest piece, a Supreme Sultan head study will be awarded to 25 class winners. An assortment of impressive, customized trophies will fill out the balance of the schedule.

Several new classes have been added this year for Friesians, Road Horses and Arabians. Prize money has been increased substantially in nearly every class. The 3-Gaited Stake and the Morgan English Pleasure class are both offering $1000 in prize money. And the 5-Gaited stake has been raised to a $2500 payout this year.

The exhibitor parties at KVHA shows are legendary and this year will be no exception. Diamond View customer and regular Saddlebred exhibitor Melissa Flint and her sister will be performing Saturday night. They handled the entertainment at the Summer Challenge Kickoff Party a few weeks ago and impressed the crown of nearly 200 show supporters in attendance. Their harmonies were outstanding. It's no wonder they were so successful when they toured professionally.

The Winfield Riding Club facility features two large covered rings and an indoor arena. Three large barns offer 210 permanent stalls. Sawdust bedding is provided free of charge.

Interested exhibitors are encourage to visit the KVHA website for more information. Go to: www.kvhashow.com or call (304) 344-4380
